Licence To Kill

STORY: James Bond and Felix Leiter are called out on Felix's wedding day to capture the drug dealer, Franz Sanchez. They succeed but Sanchez bribes a cop to free him and takes brutal revenge on Felix and his wife. James Bond sets out to take his revenge on Sanchez, having his licence to kill revoked by M and running into bother with the Hong Kong Narcotics Board in the process.
REVIEW: This film is my personal favourite Bond film. The acting is up to a very high standard and easily overcomes some of the script's weakness's (such as when Killifer only needs to be offered a million more for him to give in and free Sanchez)! The violence is mostly not gratuitious but adds to the threat of Sanchez and his gang. The film is dark, harsh and gritty but less serious than most people say it is and definitely not as serious as The Living Daylights. Two performances stand out and they are Timothy Dalton's and Robert Davi as Sanchez. Despite the fact that he is not a power-crazed megalomaniac, he stands out in a chilling performance and his realism makes me feel that this is one man I wouldn't like to meet. Michael Kamen's score is probably the best not done by John Barry. It brilliantly adds tension to tense scenes, romance to romantic scenes and excitement to the many brilliant action set-pieces. Licence To Kill is tense, scary and exciting and best of all, original. It stands out as probably the most underrated Bond film ever, but I love it so much that its definitely number one in my personal top ten.
